Riding on Abbas Afridi's clinical fifer and sensational fifties from Usman Khan and Haseebullah, Pakistan Shaheens swatted aside Bangladesh A by eight wickets in the first One-Day match at the Islamabad Club on Monday.

Pakistan Shaheens' captain Mohammad Haris won the toss and opted to field first. His decision proved to be a masterstroke as the Shaheens ran riot to rattle their Bangladesh counterparts.

International players, Mohammad Naim and Soumya Sarkar, were dismissed cheaply by Abbas Afridi, while Towhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali and Mosaddek Hossain let the visitors down, registering low scores.

However, number three batter Saif Hassan held the fort for Bangladesh A, slamming a valiant 58-run knock off 68 deliveries with the help of ten boundaries and a six.

Leg spin bowler Rishad Hossain was the second best contributor with the bat, as he scored 40 runs, helping his side reach 183 before being bundled out.

Abbas Afridi was the pick of the bowlers for the Shaheens, scalping five wickets for 38 runs in nine overs.
