The Indian team recently sealed a thrilling victory in the fourth Test match of the ongoing series against England, defeating the visitors by five wickets on day four of the game.

Rohit Sharma and Co. became the first team to defeat England in a bilateral series ever since they adopted the much-hyped Bazball approach in Red Ball Cricket.

Meanwhile, former England captain Naseer Hussain has appreciated the young side for winning the series by 3-1 with a match remaining.

Hussain believes that the Indian squad showcased a supreme skillset, and England should not feel ashamed of losing to such a strong team.

'India won despite missing stars’ - Naseer Hussain

While analysing the game on Sky Sports, Hussain lauded India for winning three back-to-back Tests despite missing star players in their squad, which is a massive feat for the young players.

The Indian team missed their most successful captain, Virat Kohli, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah and reliable wicket-keeper KL Rahul in the Ranchi affair. While Kohli withdrew himself from the series, Bumrah was rested, with Rahul being ruled out of the game.

Hussain stated that England lost the match on the day before, even if the result of the game was decided the following day. He said,

"England did not lose the game today, they game was lost yesterday. What a turnaround from India. I think India deserve credit for the way they have played throughout the series, to be honest. India have been without some star names, there is a long list of people who are missing, and yet they managed to put in performances."

Hussain appreciated the host nation for a striking track record at home while praising young players like Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel. He further added,

"Their home record is absolutely phenomenal, so there is no shame in losing to this Indian side. Like with any Test series or even any Test match, you look at key areas, where you let the game slip, and for England, it was all of yesterday. Shubman Gill showed his class and his calmness, and Dhruv Jurel has just been a revelation to be honest in the two games that he has played, both with the gloves and also with the bat.”

India and England will once again lock horns in the final Test match of the series in Dharamsala. Despite losing the series, the English team will have a lot to ponder over and would like to give a tough fight to the hosts to win the final dead rubber.
