'Hardik Pandya Is A Very Nice Human…,' GT Pacer Hails Over-Expressive Indian All-Rounder
Pandya receives massive applause from Mohit [@hardikpandya7/X]
Mohit Sharma has heaped a significant praise on dynamic Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Formerly an Indian fast bowler and active Gujarat Titans player, Sharma also highlighted the leadership attributes of Pandya by recalling the latter’s IPL captaincy stint in 2022 and 2023.
While Pandya recently played a significant role in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup winning crusade, the Indian all-rounder was widely panned by fans across various venues during the IPL 2024 season earlier this year.
Mohit Sharma says Hardik Pandya ‘pumps up’ players
Discarded Indian fast bowler Mohit Sharma recently defended the “over-expressive” nature of all-rounder and senior player Hardik Pandya. He said that Pandya has been often misunderstood by others, which in turn, leads to his unwanted criticism and jeering. While speaking on 2 Sloggers, he said:
“The concept of being misunderstood is different for every individual. If I like to remain humble, it doesn’t mean that everyone would like to remain humble. There are some people who are over- expressive. In our community, we find it difficult to accept when someone comes out like that. I will give you a perfect example – if you stay in a high-rise building and see someone enjoy the rain, even we feel like doing it, but our hesitation stops us. So, everyone wants to be like Hardik, but they can’t be like him, which results in these things.”
Mohit Sharma also described Hardik Pandya a “very nice human being” and an “easy-going” person who manages to keep the atmosphere healthy. Speaking about his captaincy, the former CSK paceman added that Pandya has the unique ability of pumping up his players.
“As a person, Hardik is a very nice human being. He is a darling type of guy and very easy-going. He makes the atmosphere very healthy. It doesn’t matter what the world thinks. As a leader, there is always some scope for improvement. Hardik’s biggest quality is that he gets his players pumped up because he himself likes to be pumped uр.”
Hardik Pandya Eyes Test Return With A Breakthrough Domestic Season
As of now, Hardik Pandya will reportedly be making his return to Ranji Trophy in lieu of this year’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series in Australia. The charismatic Indian all-rounder recently lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies alongside his teammates. The cricketer also made a short trip to Sri Lanka for a handful of white-ball fixtures.
