Hardik Pandya is one of the finest seam-bowling all-rounders India have produced and he has the knack of showing up in big occasions. In the big final of T20 World Cup 2024, he once again showed his ability to deliver under pressure and got the big wicket of Heinrich Klaasen who was taking the game away from India.
It was the first delivery of the 17th over and Hardik bowled it full and outside off. It was a slower one as well and Heinrich Klaasen threw his bat at it. He, however, got an outside edge and Rishabh Pant behind the stumps took a regulation catch to send back dangerous Klaasen back to the hut.
It was a much-needed breakthrough for India as South Africa just needed 26 off 24 balls with six wickets in hand. It also brought down tears in the eyes of a fan in the crowd, and the game changed after that wickets as Indian bowlers choked South Africa in the last four overs.
