India's prominent all-rounder, Shardul Thakur, rose to fame after his resurgence with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL. He spent four years under the leadership of legendary former Indian captain MS Dhoni, forcing the world to take notice with impressive spells.

However, due to mega auctions, CSK had to let him go, and accordingly, Thakur was picked up by Delhi Capitals for the 2022 season. He then moved to Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023 before eventually returning to CSK this year.

Notably, Thakur is currently struggling to break into the senior national squad due to increased competition. Thus, the impending IPL season presents an opportunity for the all-rounder to once again prove his worth.

Meanwhile, Thakur, who was part of Mumbai's Ranji Trophy-winning squad, shed light on his aspirations for the upcoming IPL season.

The all-rounder causally quipped that he has no preset plan of action. He is reliant on his skipper, MS Dhoni, to bring out the best from him.

Thakur explained that Dhoni is one of the greatest cricketers out there, and he intends to learn the basics of the game from him this year.

"I do not have a plan of action for the IPL. Dhoni sahab is there, one of the greatest cricketers ever. I will play under him again so I will try to learn a lot of things and how he gets performance out of players," said Shardul to ANI.

Notably, MS Dhoni has a reputation for fostering future stars of Indian cricket. Many youngsters who were once with him in CSK as rookies went on to achieve success on the big stage.

Thus, Shardul Thakur expects to meet the same fate. After CSK helped him with his initial break, the all-rounder insisted on relaunching his international career after a second stint with CSK.
