The countdown to the largest contest of world cricket has started, India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025. With the two arch-rivals set to face each other on September 14 in Dubai, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has added spice to the contest with his fiery statement, saying his team will conquer the opposition.
Following the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s Operation Sindoor, relations between the two nations remain tense. Despite strong pushback from fans, the BCCI confirmed involvement in the Asia Cup on geopolitical grounds.
Haris Rauf Heats Up Indo-Pak Clash With Bold Prediction
Meanwhile, ahead of the September 14 clash, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has ignited a war of words. In a video going viral on social media, a fan asked Rauf about Pakistan’s chances against India in the two possible matchups (one in group stages and other in knockouts) that can occur during the Asia Cup.
Without hesitation, he replied, “Dono apne hai, Inshallah” (Both matches are ours, God willing).
While Rauf’s comments show belief, the road ahead for Pakistan is tough. They come into the tournament following a disappointing Bangladesh series loss, casting their form in doubt.
On the other hand, India comes with a full-strength squad featuring stars like Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav. This makes India the clear favourite in the eyes of many experts.
India Has A Clear Edge Over Pakistan In Head-To-Head
In World Cups and Asia Cups, India has historically been the better team against Pakistan, enjoying a higher head-to-head record in multi-nation tournaments. In the Asia Cup alone, the men in blue have won 10 of the 19 matchups, while Pakistan won 6 and 3 games were abandoned.
Hence, Pakistan need more than self-belief at this point to challenge a heavily built Indian team.
