However, just a few days later, when the Asia Cup revealed its schedule on Saturday, July 26, fans were shocked to see India scheduled to face Pakistan on September 14. The high-octane clash has been scheduled in the UAE, the host nation for the tournament. However, the geopolitical tension has troubled fans, many of whom took to the internet to express strong disapproval of the scheduling.

Taking to their X handles, netizens called for a boycott of the match as a sign of protest. Notably, the World Championship match between India Champions and Pakistan Champions was also cancelled due to severe backlash from Indian fans online.

Asia Cup 2025 Format
The Asia Cup 2025 will be an eight-team T20 tournament hosted in the UAE, with India as the official host. The teams are divided into two groups: Group A includes India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage, where each team will play against the others. The top two from the Super Four will advance to the final. The mega tournament is set to start on September 9 with its final scheduled for September 28.
