Meanwhile, The 2024 Hundred season witnessed thrilling cricketing action, with some spectacular bowling performances that left fans and experts in awe.

Shorter format is always challenging for the bowlers, but a few of them, including Sam Curran and Sean Abbott, managed to rise above the pressure and register spectacular numbers.

On that note, here's a look at the top five bowling performances of The Hundred Men's 2024.

Australian pacer, Sean Abbott's performance against Welsh Fire was nothing short of sensational. Abbott's figures of 4/16 played a crucial role in Birmingham Phoenix's victory in a closely contested match. Abbott's dismissals include middle order batters Joe Clarke and Tom Abell. Not only that, Abbott removed dangerous Tom Kohler Cadmore which helped Phoenix restrict the Fire for 146 runs total.

4. Tymal Mills - 4/16 Vs Welsh Fire

Southern Brave pacer, Tymal Mills made a strong impact against Welsh Fire. Mills' figures of 4/16 came in a match where every run and wicket mattered. In the 140-run chase, Mills removed opener Luke Wells to set the tone right for Brave. His ability to bowl at the death was too much for the Welsh's lower order to handle. Needless to say, Welsh Fire never recovered from the spell and were bowled out for just 97 runs.

3. Sean Abbott - 4/14 Vs London Spirit

Sean Abbott bagged his second player of the match award for another sensational spell of 4/14 against London Spirit. He utilised his height and pace to extract extra bounce from the pitch, troubling the Spirit middle order batters throughout his spell. He dismissed Michael Pepper and captain Dan Lawerence which resulted in an underwhelming first inning total of 127 runs. Meanwhile, the Phoenix also had to hustle their way through to secure a 3-wicket victory.

2. Sam Curran - 5/16 Vs London Spirit

England's all-rounder, Sam Curran was at his best in a high-stakes encounter against London Spirit, where he delivered a five-wicket-haul with the ball to claim the player of the match trophy. After Adam Zampa got rid of the top order, Curran breathed Fire with his spell to break the back of the lower-middle order and claimed a hattrick. His important wickets include dangerous Andre Russell and Liam Dawson. Needless to say, Curran's spell not only ensured a comfortable win for Oval Invincibles but also highlighted his importance as a versatile all-rounder.

 1. Tim Southee - 5/12 Vs Trent Rockets

Veteran New Zealand pacer, Tim Southee produced one of the most memorable spells of the tournament when he dismantled Trent Rockets with figures of 5/12. He chipped the crucial wicket of Joe Root when the latter was batting at just 2. Southee's precision and control ensured that Rockets never recovered, leading Phoenix to a comfortable 6-wicket victory. That being said, Tim Southee's spell was a masterclass in seam bowling, especially on a surface that offered little assistance, which made his performance even more remarkable.
