In the ongoing match between Trent Rockets and Birmingham Phoenix, the Rockets, batting first, have failed to get off to a positive start as they have lost four wickets for less than 50 runs. 

Expectations from Joe Root, who has had decent figures in this edition of the Hundred, but the former England skipper failed to put on a show with the bat as he tumbled for just 2 (4). 

Root failed to score runs against New Zealand seamer Tim Southee and gave away an easy wicket. Talking about Southee, it was his second wicket of the day as he first got rid of Tom Banton with a classical in-swinger.

Root has scored two 30+ plus scores in this edition of the Hundred, but his contribution has not helped Trent Rockets win games. The Lewis Gregory-led side are placed fifth on the table. Meanwhile, Birmingham are fourth on the table with eight points. A win for the Rockets would mean that they would equal the Phoenix on the points tally. 

At the time of writing this article, Trent Rockets are 47/4 after 55 balls. Also, The Rockets have already dealt a big blow as Rashid Khan has been ruled out of the remainder of the Hundred because of injury.
