Indian Superstar Trio Of Harmanpreet, Rodrigues And Deepti Sharma Included In WBBL 2024 Draft

The stature of Indian women cricketers have been on rise for quite a few years now, and their demand in the overseas franchise leagues has been increasing with each passing year. Now, ahead of the 2024 edition of the Women's Big Bash League, the Indian trio of Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma has been included in the first draft for the competition.

The three Indian superstars are among the 10 players nominated in the draft of the 10th edition of WBBL. Laura Wolvaardt and Shabnim Ismail are the two South Africans in the list while four players are English. Suzie Bates is the lone New Zealander in the list. 

Harmanpreet Kaur Eligible To Be Retained By Melbourne Renegades

However, many of these players are eligible for retention by their respective franchises and the Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur can also be retained by Melbourne Renegades. South African skipper, Laura Wolvaardt is also eligible for retention by Adelaide Strikers while English skipper Heather Knight can be retained by Sydney Thunder.

The Women's Big Bash League 2024 is all set to begin on 27th of October and the final will be played on December 1. Adelaide Strikers Women are the reigning champions and the first game of the 2024 season will be the rematch of the final of the 2023 season with Strikers taking on Brisbane Heat Women.
