When Virat Kohli 'Lauded' Aiden Markram For His Stellar Knock Vs Australia In 2018

Team India came with a huge amount of expectations of winning the first-ever Test series in South Africa, but Dean Elgar's exceptional knock in his farewell series thrashed the hopes of India by winning the first Test. 

Rohit and his men bounced back and bowled out the hosts for just 55 in the first innings and got a lead of 98 runs. Aiden Markram smacked a ton on a tough surface and the tweet Kohli wrote about him in 2018 is going viral.

Markram was not having a good time in the Test series, as he could not even cross the 10-run mark in the two innings. Coming to bat to chase the trail of 98 runs, on a surface where they were bundled out for just 55 runs, the right-hander went on to smack the Indian bowlers and scored 106 runs off just 103 deliveries. 

Not only he was the lone warrior from the South African team, but he also helped them to get a lead of 78 runs. He was calm and composed while batting and as the tail came to bat along with him, he started playing his shots and completed a ton on a troubling surface. 

When Kohli lauded Markram

The Indian batting giant tweeted about Aiden Markram during the Australia tour of South Africa, the series which is famous for Australia's ball-tampering case, but it will go won as the favourite one for Markram, as he amassed 480 runs in the series and helped his team win the series by 3-1.

However, the hundred that Markram has scored today will be in a losing cause as India have started their innings aggressively and would complete the chase in the second session only.
