Day 3 of the ongoing third Test between Australia and Pakistan somewhat resembles Day 2 of the recently concluded India-South Africa Cape Town encounter, where bowlers had a field day.

After Pakistan bundled out Australia for 299, where the home side lost their last five wickets for just ten runs, the visitors, with a lead of 14 runs, came out to bat for the second time. Aamer Jamal, once again, stood out for the visitors, claiming his second six-wicket haul of the series.

Opener Abdullah Shafique, who has been having a terrible time in the field since the Melbourne Test, found himself getting knocked over by Mitchell Starc in the first over itself.

Starc, known for his inswing deliveries, found the perfect length to force Shafique to play the wrong time and sneak the bat past the gap and onto the stumps.

Josh Hazlewood joined in as well, getting the better of Shan Masood, in the second over.

Saim Ayub and Babar Azam stitched a small 57-run stand for the third wicket, broken by Nathan Lyon, who got rid of the opener.  Azam, too, fell soon with Travis Head getting the former captain for 23.

As of writing, Pakistan are 66 for 4 with Mohammed Rizwan and Saud Shakeel batting in the middle on 5* and 1*, respectively with leading closing near 100. Australia have already gained an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
