The Indian team made an impressive comeback in the second Test against South Africa, bowling them out for just 55 in the first innings and building a lead of 98 runs on a surface that was not ideal for batting. In the second innings, the Indian bowlers stood up again and bowled out South Africa and got a target of just 79 runs with three and a half days of plays left.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who came to South Africa for the first time to play for India in the longest format of the game, started off the short chase with aggressive intent in tough batting conditions. This is the first time in a long while that India toured SENA countries without Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. This transition is not going to be an easy one, but youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer will make the most of the opportunities that come their way.

Jaiswal, who started his Test career with a century in the West Indies, has given India a chance to go out with a left-handed option at the top order, with Shubman Gill coming down to bat at three and taking the place of Pujara.

Here's how Jaiswal gave a flyer of a start to the Indian innings:

With Jaiswal's strokeplay, India can do wonders in the longer format in overseas conditions, where a team needs players who can counter the bowling attack. In a similar way, he started off the chase with 79 runs and gathered six boundaries in his innings of 28 runs, that too against the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Nandre Burger.

Jaiswal's brisk start and Shreyas Iyer's finishing the chase define the future of India in Test cricket, as India draws the series in South Africa for the second time in the history of Test cricket.
