In a match where no other batter could even register a fifty, South Africa's prodigal opener, Aiden Markram, sprayed his charm with a sensational century. Not only did the 29-year-old hit his 7th hundred in Test cricket but allowed to comeback in the second innings after a disastrous show - 55 all-out - on Day 1.

Markram's effort has helped South Africa bag a lead over 60 runs, which could be challenging for the Men in Blue to chase in the fourth innings. The Proteas T20I captain, who turned on the heat after getting dropped by KL Rahul, started dealing just in boundaries after getting a life on 73.

However, the opener was eventually sent back to the hut by Mohammed Siraj, who enforced the home team to get out 55 in the first session of the Cape Town Test.

Earlier in the day, it was Jasprit Bumrah's beautiful seam-bowling, taking his 9th Test fifer and second on South Africa's land.

As of writing, South Africa's lead has gone past 75 runs. The scoreboard is reading 174-9, with Lungi Ngidi (7*) and Nandre Burger (5*) batting in the middle.
