When Did Rohit Sharma Achieve 'THIS' Record By Powering MI To The First-Ever IPL Title?

Despite an unfortunate end, Rohit Sharma will remain one of the greatest ever captains in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), alongside MS Dhoni. He led Mumbai to win five IPL titles, and the success story began in 2013 when they defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on this day in 2013.

In the process, Rohit claimed a record which is yet to be broken. Even so, it will remain the same after the IPL 2024 ends, as neither of the two captains -- Pat Cummins and Shreyas Iyer -- who have taken their sides, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectively, to the final, are qualified to achieve the feat.

Rohit, as a captain of an IPL side, lifted the trophy at the age of 26. He still remains the youngest captain to win the title in the competition. Cummins is 31 and Shreyas is 29, leading the chances of breaking the record out of the equation.

Mumbai Indians replaced Rohit with Hardik Pandya as their captain ahead of IPL 2024. They had a disastrous run, winning only four out of 14 attempts in the league stage to finish at the bottom of the points table.

Will Rohit remain at the franchise where he was sacked while being India's all-format captain at the age of 37? Well, only time will tell.
