In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), captains Shreyas Iyer and Pat Cummins shared some light-hearted mood and engaged in a humorous exchange. 

The final is set to take place on Sunday, May 26 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Before the big match, both captains participated in a mandatory photoshoot with the IPL trophy at Chepauk Beach. In a video released by the IPL, the two captains playfully teased each other. 

Iyer joked about his early days riding an autorickshaw and humorously demanded INR 20 crore from Cummins for a ride. The banter continued as Iyer inquired about Cummins' experience and memories of winning the IPL in his debut season with KKR back in 2014. 

The video showcases the camaraderie and sportsmanship between the two captains ahead of the crucial final match.

Pat Cummins was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the mini-auction before the current IPL season for an impressive INR 20.50 crore and immediately he took on the captaincy role for SRH. 

The 31-year-old has demonstrated his 'Midas Touch,' guiding SRH to their first IPL final in six years. 

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer has made a remarkable comeback for KKR as he missed out the last season due to a back injury. The 29-year-old has smashed 345 runs in 13 innings at an average of 38.33 and a strike rate of 146.18.
