On Saturday, Rohit Sharma-led Indian team departed for the United States to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup. 

While most of the key players- Ravindra Jadeja, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant and Shivam Dube travelled alongside Rohit, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya will join the squad after a few days. 

Meanwhile, before leaving for the World Cup, the Indian players had a cake-cutting ceremony. Rishabh Pant, who made a comeback to the national setup after a long hiatus, had the honour of cutting the cake.

But as soon as Pant offered Rohit a slice of cake, the Indian captain, in a jolly mood, stated that he would eat it only after leading the Men in Blue to the World Cup triumph. 

The video went viral on social media as fans lauded Rohit for his inspirational words. Hailed for his incredible leadership qualities, Rohit led India to the 2023 World Cup final, where Travis Head's majestic ton resulted in their heart-breaking defeat against Australia. 

Talking about India, the Men in Blue are in Group A alongside Canada, Ireland, Pakistan and co-hosts USA. After playing three matches in New York, they will face Canada in Lauderhill, Florida.
