Rohit Sharma's childhood coach, Dinesh Jawahar Lad once revealed an interesting untold story about the Indian captain's dream to buy a Mercedes car when he was young and was far away from a national call-up.

Rohit saw a dream and he fulfilled it

A young Rohit spotted a Mercedes car which was parked and vowed to buy a similar car when he grows up. Dinesh Lad rubbished it as a useless dream which a young Rohit saw, but little did he realise that the Mumbai cricketer would one day own the same car.

Lad revealed that he wanted Rohit to focus on his cricket instead of other things, but the dynamic batter saw a dream and wanted to fulfil it.

The coach was awestruck with Rohit's determination, and fast forward, a few years later, Rohit did manage to become one of the world's best cricketer, and is now a proud owner of not only a Mercedes car, but also has other big brand cars in his garage. He also has a net worth, which approximately exceeds the 200 crore mark.

"We were standing at one place and a Mercedes car was parked there. Rohit had got selected for Mumbai's U19 team at that time. Rohit said, "Sir, I will buy this car, is it possible?. I said," You haven't played anything and you would buy a Mercedes? But Rohit said with a lot of confidence that he would buy the car. Today he has a lot of cars as his confidence level was really high at that time. He knew that he could reach that position," Lad revealed in an interview.

What's next for World Champion Rohit Sharma?

After leading India to their second-ever T20 World Cup title, a couple of months ago, Rohit took a break from the game, and returned back for the Sri Lanka ODI series, which India lost.

The dynamic leader was expected to play the Duleep Trophy, but that never happened as the BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah wanted to manage his workload.

He will next be seen in action against Bangladesh, in a two-match Test series, set to commence next month. The series will be a part of the WTC cycle.
