Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans (GT) teammate, Sai Sudharsan completed his century with a colossal six in the ongoing County Championship match.

Sudharsan stamps his authority on County return

Playing for Surrey against Nottinghamshire, Sudharsan made full use of the flat surface on offer and took the opposition attack to the cleaners. He played some delightful strokes and looked calm and composed throughout the innings.

The foundation for his monumental knock was established by Rory Burns, who scored 161 runs opening the batting, and it allowed the other batters to take advantage of the great start provided by Burns.

Sudharsan was at his attacking best for Surrey, and was batting at 98, when he decided to channel his inner Virender Sehwag as he stepped down the track and smacked an off-break delivery well over the long-on fence to reach the three-figure mark in some style.

He was elated after breaching the landmark, and stamped his authority against a quality Nottinghamshire bowling attack.

Sudharsan eyeing India Test cap!

So far, Sudharsan has played in 3 ODIs and a solitary T20I match for India. In the 50-over format, he has already racked up 127 runs, including 2 half-centuries.

Having made his debut in two international formats, Sudharsan is eyeing his place in the Test setup as well. Apart from Rishabh Pant, there is no left-handed batter in the middle-order, and with the Test squad ageing, India need young crop of players in the side.

A technically astute batter, Sudharsan can bat at any position in the top-6 and with his statement knock in the ongoing match, he has certainly knocked at the doors of the selectors.
