Virat Kohli, who is renowned his fervent and exuberant celebrations on the field, showcased a new celebration following Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) comprehensive triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 65 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Thursday.

The former Indian captain, an ardent admirer of Portuguese football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo, orchestrated a re-enactment of Ronaldo's renowned 'sleeping' celebration. Kohli emulated the celebration after his astonishing century propelled his team to a resounding victory against SRH. 

The 34-year-old’s emulation of his football idol Ronaldo’s celebration further underscores his profound admiration for the Portuguese superstar.

In a masterclass display of batting prowess, the RCB star delivered a vintage innings, smashing a scintillating century off just 62 deliveries, while skipper, Faf du Plessis, contributed an equally brilliant performance, scoring 71 off 47 balls to see their team home with eight wickets to spare. 

It is worth mentioning that this encounter etched an unprecedented milestone in the history of IPL, as it witnessed centuries being scored by players from both sides.

Meanwhile, the triumph has propelled the Bangalore-based franchise to the fourth spot in the points table, amassing a total of 14 points and rekindling their aspirations of advancing to the playoffs. With their final league match against the already qualified Gujarat Titans (GT) yet to be played, the team's playoff prospects have been significantly bolstered.

RCB will take on the defending champions at home in the last league game of the tournament on Sunday, May 21. A win in against Gujarat is likely to guarantee them a spot in the coveted playoffs.
