The 58th match of IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off due to significant technical failure at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala. The players were taken off the field while the crowd was asked to leave the stadium with tensions rising between India and Pakistan.
Now, according to TOI, Rajeev Shukla has mentioned that the players of both the teams will be evacuated by special train from Dharamsala and the final decision on the future of IPL 2025 will be taken on May 9.
"We are organising a special train from close to Dharamsala to bring everybody home safely. As of now the match has been called off and the stadium has been evacuated. We will take a call on the tournament's future depending on the situation tomorrow. As of now, players' safety is utmost important. The match couldn't have continued tonight because of the situation. It wasn't safe," BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla told TOI.
IPL 2025 Likely To Be Postponed
As of now, players of both the teams are at the hotel and are awaiting the directives from the IPL authorities and BCCI. The next game at Dharamsala that was scheduled to be played on May 11 between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians has already been shifted to Ahmedabad.
If the situation gets worse, IPL 2025 might be postponed, and the decision on the same can be expected soon.
