In a fervent display of camaraderie and sportsmanship, pacers Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur, indulged in a poignant interaction following the IPL 2023 clash between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. The two speedsters engaged in a symbolic act, swapping their jerseys as a testament to their great camaraderie.

CSK promptly took to their official Twitter handle to present the cherished glimpse of the long-awaited reunion between Chahar and Thakur. The two bowlers can be seen shaking hands and embracing each other in the video. CSK wrote, "Cherry x Dhool. Just like old times. #CSKvKKR #WhistlePodu #Yellove.”

Chahar and Thakur previously shared the privilege of donning the same IPL colors, forging an unbreakable partnership as teammates from 2017 to 2021. They were first teammates in 2017 for the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant.

Subsequently, their illustrious journey continued as they stood united within the formidable CSK ranks from 2018 to 2021. It is worth mentioning that the Thakur’s illustrious tenure donning the revered yellow jersey, marked by an impressive tally of 55 wickets in 48 IPL encounters.

After being released by CSK, the Mumbai-based cricketer was brought by Delhi Capitals for IPL 2022 and was later traded to KKR for the ongoing season.

Meanwhile, after CSK won the toss and elected to bat first, they struggled to put up a formidable total, finishing at 144 for six. Shivam Dube emerged as the top scorer for the home team, playing an unbeaten knock of 48 runs off 34 deliveries. KKR's spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy were the pick of the bowlers, claiming two wickets each.

In response, KKR faced some initial difficulties during their chase of 145 runs but eventually managed to reach the target in 18.3 overs. Rinku Singh contributed with a half-century, scoring 54 runs, while captain Nitish Rana remained unbeaten on 57 to guide his team to victory at the Chepauk.
