Just when IPL 2025 was hitting top gear, a chilling twist has shaken the cricketing world. After the Eden Gardens scare during the KKR vs CSK clash, now it is Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium that has been hit with a bomb threat which has triggered panic and a massive security response.

Rajasthan Royals' Sawai Mansingh Stadium Rocked By Bomb Threat

This comes right in the middle of the high-stakes IPL 2025 season and just days after India launched air strikes under "Operation Sindoor", targetting terrorist bases across the border.

The Sawai Mansingh Stadium is the home fortress of Rajasthan Royals, who are set to play their final league game against Punjab Kings on May 16. But with this bomb scare, the mood has shifted from cricket fever to full-blown concern.

The threat came in via email at around 9:13 AM and immediately raised red flags. Referring to India’s recent military operation, the message reportedly said:

“As a mark of your success in Operation Sindoor, we will carry out a bomb blast in your stadium. Save everyone if you can.”

After the mail was received, the stadium was evacuated and bomb squads, along with frisking units arrived at the scene in no time.

Rajasthan Sports Council president Neeraj K Pawan confirmed the seriousness of the situation:

“We received a bomb threat through email. The mail was then sent to the Police Commissioner. The bomb disposal squad and frisking team have arrived. The investigation is underway.”

Operation Sindoor And The Rising Tension

The Sawai Mansingh Stadium bomb threat is deeply tied to the current geopolitical tension between India and Pakistan. Just a day before this threat, India had carried out air strikes on nine terrorist bases, including some in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and eastern Punjab, following the horrific Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.

The government has confirmed the operation’s success with nearly 100 terrorists neutralized. It’s no surprise that while India is celebrating, enemies of peace are stirring trouble on Indian soil in response.

Eden Gardens Was Also Under Threat A Day Earlier

If this wasn’t serious enough, Eden Gardens in Kolkata also received a similar threat just a day earlier during the match between KKR and CSK. The fact that two major IPL venues have been threatened back-to-back has now put security agencies on high alert.

With Rajasthan Royals still to play a home game on May 16, the question now is whether the match will go ahead as planned or if extra security measures will be brought in. So far, there is no official word on rescheduling or relocation but the authorities aren’t taking any chances.
