In Cricket, very rarely  we see a spinner bowling a last over as it is often considered difficult for a spinner to bowl in the death. However, Varun Chakaravarthy had no such problems in the game against SRH. He bowled three overs - 18 balls out of the last 30 balls and gave away just 8 runs including a big wicket of Abdul Samad in the last over as SRH failed to get 9 runs in the last over bowled by the Indian mystery spinner.

Varun Chakaravarthy got the 'Player of the Match' award for this outstanding bowling performance and he provided some good insights on his bowling and situation of the game in his interview.

He admitted that his heartbeat was touching almost 200 in the last over and he wanted to challenge batters to hit at the longer end. He added that the ball was slipping from his hand and his best chance was to make the batter hit on the longer side. He also mentioned that he does not show emotions because doing so can take him off-track.

"Yeah, my heartbeat was touching 200. I am fine now. But I wanted to challenge them to the longer end. The ball was slipping from my hand and my best bet was the longer side. My first over went for 12 runs, Markram hit me for two fours and that is how the game goes. Nothing like that. Sometimes I tend to go through the emotions and that's why I go off-track."

He talked about his speed and said that last year he was bowling around 85 kmph and he has tried to bring more revolutions on his deliveries that has increased his speed too this year. He also added that he was trying too many variations in the last season and feels that the ball is coming out nicely now.

"Last year I was bowling at 85 kmph and now it is coming off nicely. Last year I was trying too many deliveries and wasn't at my best. I went back and tried to get better and realized that I need to work on the revolutions. I am feeling good now."

Varun Chakaravarthy has been in brilliant form this season with 14 wickets in 10 matches and would be looking to continue his form in the coming games. KKR will now play their next game against Punjab Kings on 8th of May at the Eden Gardens.
