MI vs DC Live 🔴

That's it for today! And, I will leave you with a clip of Alice Capsey hammering Hayley Matthews for three sixes! Do join us tomorrow for the final day of the league stage! Adios Amigos!

DC have won it in just 8.5 overs and have improved their net run rate. With this hammering MI lose their top spot to the Capitals!

And with that DC have won this fixture with 9 wickets in hand. It has been a proper onslaught by the DC batters. MI didn't manage to get a par total on board and they have paid the price here.

Another maximum and just three runs are left in the bank!

Rukawat ke liye khed h! Alice tonks it into the stands DC 97-1 after 8.1 overs

The start post the time out has been a touch on the slower side with just two runs off the 8th over!

Time for the strategic time out! DC are 89-1 after 7 overs!

To make matters worse Hayley bowls a short pitch delivery that the keeper couldn't deal with and they have been rewarded with four byes!

Make it three! Alice is toying with Hayley here...

Two sixes from Alice and DC are now on 79-1 from 6.3 overs!

DC 67-1 after 6 overs

After facing a few dot balls, Meg decides to send one into the night sky here!

Want to learn how to bat in the powerplay, have a look:

Alice walks out to the middle here...

Shafali departs after scoring a quick fire 33 off 15 balls!

Badal: Looks like I have jinxed it here...

50 run partnership for the DC openers! And Meg celebrates it with a maximum, make it 56 in 4.2 overs!

The Purple cap holder is being taken care of by the DC openers! DC are 44-0 after 3.4 overs!

Meg flicks it to the fence! Another boundary, DC are on fire 🔥

Make it three boundaries off the over and DC are 22-0 after 2 overs!

Another boundary from the blade of Verma! DC are 18-0 after 1.4 overs

Wong to start from the other end and Verma welcomes her with a boundary!

Lanning smokes two back to back boundaries as DC start with 10 runs off the first over.

Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma will open for Delhi Capitals.

Natalie Sciver will start with the new ball for the Mumbai Indians.

We are back for the second innings!

So, MI end on 109-8 after their 20 overs. A below par total on this deck and it will be interesting to see if they can make a match out of it!

Meanwhile, DC will be happy with their bowling performances and they would love to chase this down and keep their chances of finish top of the table alive.

Only 6 runs come off the final over! They were looking to make it 7 but ended up getting run-out on the final delivery.

Wong is the 7th Mumbai batter to get out. Fuller-length delivery around the off-stump. Wong makes room and tries to free her arms but cannot get underneath it. Tries to go inside out but miscues it in the air and Meg Lanning takes a sitter at extra covers inside the circle.

Jess gets another wicket here...MI are 7 down and even 110 looks a bit difficult now as Wong walks back!

MI are 103-6 after 19 overs! With just one over left looks like 110 is what they might end up on!

Taps it towards short fine and rushes for a quick single! Looks close as the umpire sends it upsatirs but she survives!

Short to Wong and into the stands it goes!

Just a reminder for everyone that both these teams have already qualified for the knockouts

Meanwhile, MI has smoked back to back boundaries and are 85-6 after 16 overs as we head into the second strategic time-out!

Pandey gets her revenge here. Fuller-length delivery on the off-stump line. Slower one as well. Kaur sits down on one knee and goes for her trademark slog sweep. Connects it well and plays it flat. She had the power but not the height. Plays it aerially straight to Jemimah at deep mid-wicket. She celebrates this catch with a dance move.

Harman hits one straight into the hands of Jemimah at deep mid-wicket!

Badal: As I said, I see them getting bowled out here, Harman is gone and it is a real possibility!

Meanwhile, a catch has been dropped by Alice Capsey! It was a sitter but she has spilled it.

Badal: With 6 overs remaining and Harman still out in the middle. They will expect to go beyond 120 here. But, I have a feeling that they will get bundled out for less than 100 here.

Mumbai are 69-5 after 14 overs!

Not much is happening out in the middle as MI keep struggling to pick the run rate up here...

One shot too many from Pooja as she holes out in the deep! Tosses it on a length outside the off. Pooja dances down the track and goes through with the shot even though not getting to the pitch of it. She gets the inside half of the bat and it carries straight down the throat of Radha Yadav at long-on.

Pooja's cameo ends here as Jonassen gets her first wicket of the night.

Just when things were starting to get better for MI they have lost another wicket!

Poonam Yadav at the receiving end of some big strokes! 18 runs come off her first over! MI have finally responded back....

Meanwhile the MOOD in the DC camp after 4 early wickets be like:

PS: Just for FUN

MI are 24-4 and it is time for the strategic time out here...

Good length angling away outside off, Kerr comes down the track and gets the outside edge through to the keeper. She makes no mistake as Kerr walks. The finger goes up as the 4th wicket goes down here for the Mumbai Indians.

Indian's are heartbroken as their Crush has been dimissed! Kerr departs!

Meanwhile, when Kerr is out in the middle..

Meanwhile, here is the clip of Jemimah's screamer:

Another change in the bowling, Jess Jonassen comes in for the final powerplay over.

MI 17-3 after 5 overs

Badal: Every time I have covered a DC game, they have managed to get loads of wicket in the powerplay. Similar is the story today.

A smart catch from Rodrigues here as Matthews departs here. Slower one into the pitch, Matthews flicks it away uppishly to the mid-on region where Jemimah covers a lot of ground and takes a spectacular catch inches from the ground diving forward.

Jemimah takes a stunner! MI are three down and in deep trouble...

Change in bowling in comes Shikha Pandey...

MI are 6-2 after 2.3 overs!

2 IN 2 FOR KAPP. Good length angling in, Sciver looks to go across the line and misses. The ball sneaks through to hit the top of the off-stump. Sciver has to go for a golden duck as Kapp will be on a hat-trick now.

Another one bites the dust! Two wickets in two balls!

EDGED AND GONE! Good length angling across outside off, Bhatia plays away from the body and gets the outside edge through to the keeper. A good catch by the keeper as Yastika departs early. Early success for the Capitals and Kapp.

Kapp to continue and he gets the first breakthrough!

Matthews rocks back and cuts it to the fence, what a shot! First boundary of the match!

Nothing much happened in the first over as just two runs came off it...now its time for Alice Capsey to roll her arm over and try to get an early breakthrough....

And, off we go...

Marizanne Kapp has the new ball in her hand...

In walk Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews for MI...

We are minutes away from the start of the match...

Harmanpreet has lost all the tosses so far in the league...

Both sides made the playoffs comfortably, but have lost their latest games. They will be keen to get another WIN in the league stage.

Mumbai have made one change!

Delhi is unchanged!

Delhi Capitals have won the toss and decided to bowl first

We are just minutes away from the toss, so stay tuned in...

Shafali Verma (Delhi Capitals Women): "The focus is on today's game and stick to our plans and processes and stay at the top. We want to win both of our games. We believe in our strategy and execution will be the key for us. My main aim is to score for the team and work on my fitness to achieve success here. I want to do well, but team comes first to me."

Yastika Bhatia (Mumbai Indians Women): "Yeah, the talk in the dressing room is simple and that is to win every game. There is no such thing that we need only win to qualify for the finals. We are trying to win every game we play. And over that, we are considering one game at a time.

Pre-Match Pitch Report: The pitches in Dr DY Patil Sports Academy have started to get slower after starting off as belters at the start of the tournament. The score of 150-160 could be a winning total here as the spinners will get some grip and the odd ball may stick on the surface. There is still value for runs if the batters apply themselves and we will see an even battle between the bat and ball.

Hello and a warm welcome to the coverage of the 18th match of the Women’s Premier League 2023 between the Mumbai Indians Women and Delhi Capitals Women clashing at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
