India's star all-rounder Deepti Sharma is outfoxing batters with her bowling in the ongoing Women's T20I Tri-series, having eight wickets to her name.

Meanwhile, speaking ahead of the final between India and South Africa, batting coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar has lauded Sharma's work ethic and intense training schedule for success in the series.

As per the Hindu, Kanitkar went on to further praise pacer Shikha Pandey, who is making her international return.

"As long as the players keep training levels very high, it will keep working in matches. She (Deepti) practices very close to how she plays in matches, that really helps her. She's (Shikha) an important player in any format we play. The good thing is that she has a method to get the runs, that makes her consistent. She's doing well. She just needs to keep it simple, make sure the basics are right."

Sharma spun a web around West Indies' batting unit on Monday, claiming match-winning figures of 3 for 11.

Ranked second in the ICC Women's T20I bowler rankings, the 25-year-old has played two Tests, 80 ODIs, and 86 T20Is for India since 2014.

India and hosts South Africa meet at Buffalo Park today for the series finale.
