After a thrilling first ODI between India and New Zealand, the second came as a disappointment to the visitors who crumbled against a determined bowling attack.

On a tough Raipur pitch, the BlackCaps folded for just 108 under 35 overs, courtesy of Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar who scalped 3, 2 & 2 wickets respectively apart from Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav with one each.

This tremendous effort definitely helped the side to make things easier for them, however, on the way they made Kiwis achieve an unwanted record. The New Zealand side lost their first five wickets for just fifteen runs inside 11 overs which was their worst-ever score after five batters had returned to the pavilion.

Their previous worst was 18 runs which they faced against Sri Lanka in 2001 while playing in Colombo falling through the hands of Chaminda Vaas, Dilhara Fernando and Kumar Dharmasena who later reduced them to 115 all-out while chasing 222.

Coming back to this match, India defeated New Zealand by eight wickets in a low-scoring encounter where Indian skipper Rohit Sharma smashed a half-century with Men in Blue finishing the game within 21 overs. Glenn Phillips was the highest run-scorer from the Kiwi's side amassing 36 runs.
