The 'Mankad' mode of dismissal has been gaining more attention lately, with run-out instances taking place in the ongoing ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2023.

All-rounder Arjun Tendulkar, who is currently playing for Goa in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23, has opened up on the controversial topic.

Tendulkar, speaking to CricketNext after stump on Day 1 of Goa's clash against Services, revealed that he was in favour of running out the batter at the non-strikers' end, however, maintained that he wouldn't infect it himself.

Here's what Arjun said

“I’m completely in favour of Mankading. It’s in the Law. For the people who say it’s against the spirit of the game, I disagree,

"I personally won’t do it because I can’t stop and remove the bails in my run up. It’s too much effort and I won’t waste my energy in it but if someone does it, I’m in favour of it.”

In the ongoing Ranji Trophy season, Tendulkar has scored 151 runs and picked up 11 wickets for Goa.

Tendulkar picked up two wickets on Day 1 of the Round 6 encounter where Services was bundled out for 175.

Goa resumed Day 2 at 36 for 1 and are 281 for 5, with Darshan Misal and Eknath Kerkar batting on 58* and 85*, respectively leading by 106 runs at end of play.
