Brisbane Heat secured a victory by 15 runs against Sydney Sixers in Match 25 of the Big Bash League 2022 on Sunday at Brisbane.

McSweeney, Brown help Heat post a mammoth total

Batting first, Heat lost their in-form batter Colin Munro (10). However, the pair of Josh Brown and Nathan McSweeney were sensational in steering the team at a lavish pace. Brown dispatched the balls into all parts of the park, with a blistering knock of 62 coming in just 23 balls.

After the dismissal of Brown, McSweeney continued his aggression and momentum to slam 84 off 51 balls. Furthermore, the contributions from Sam Billings (28) and Jimmy Peirson (19) helped Heat to post 224 on the board.

Neser leads Heat's efforts to restrict Sixers

Sixers were terrific to get a prolific start by the openers Josh Phillipe and James Vince. In particular, Vince provided confidence to the lineup with his sublime timing and aerial shots. However, Michael Neser was intelligent to get rid of Phillipe (27) which put Sixers under pressure.

Soon, Daniel Hughes (17), Moises Henriques (11) and Vince (41) made their way back to the hut. In the end, Jordan Silk (41) and Hayden Kerr (27) tried hard but Sixers could only score 209 and fell short by 15 runs.

Brief Scores:

Brisbane Heat -224/5 (20)

Nathan McSweeney 84 (51), Josh Brown 62 (23);
Daniel Christian 1/5, Sean Abbott 1/46,

Sydney Sixers - 209/10 (20)

Jordan Silk 41 (23), James Vince 41 (24);
Michael Neser 3/41, Ross Whiteley 2/2

Result: Brisbane Heat won by 15 runs
