The Sydney Thunder team is set to take on Hobart Hurricanes in match number 22 of the ongoing Big Bash League 2022 (BBL 2022) season. Their 20-overs bout will be played out at Albury’s Lavington Sports Ground, the homebase for Thunder.

The Sydney Thunder, led by Chris Green, is currently placed at number five on the BBL season 12 points table. They have secured three wins out of their six matches, and are currently on a two-game winning streak in an attempt to shrug off their nightmare launch to the tournament.

The Hurricanes, on the other hand, have played just four matches so far to register two close wins and two defeats. Their topsy-turvy campaign places them at number six on the eight-team standing as of now.

Daniel Sams – The Australian all-rounder clubbed a 15-ball 36* for the Thunder in their previous match against Brisbane Heat. Sams also claimed two wickets in the high-scoring affair, and has collected 11 scalps in the ongoing tournament so far.

Alex HalesAlex Hales has been in scintillating form ever since he made a comeback into the national side for England this year. The cricketer seems to have carried his fine tune with the bat in BBL for the Thunder, as he recently struck two sparkling half-centuries for his side.

Riley Meredith – The Australian pacer drove the Hurricanes to victory in a low-scoring affair against the Renegades earlier this month. The speedster claimed 3-12 in the match, and has so far bagged seven wickets for his side this BBL season.

Worth the risk Picks

Chris Green – Sydney Thunder captain Green went wicketless in three of the six matches played by his side this season. The all-rounder is also yet to make much impact with the bat, and was dismissed for a duck in his side’s 15-run debacle against Strikers earlier in the tournament.

D'Arcy Short – The Hurricanes opener has managed just 68 runs in four matches for his side in BBL 2022-23. The cricketer is yet to score a half-century, with his highest effort being the 35 he listed against the Scorchers.
