Preparations have begun for the sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament. The Championship will be played from November 23 to December 4 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. With the league just two months away, the franchise Morrisville SAMP Army have unveiled their coaching staff.

They have acquired the services of the legendary Proteas all-rounder Lance Klusener as the head coach. It will be an enriching experience as Klusener will be mentoring some of the finest modern-day cricketers, including the likes of David Miller, Moeen Ali, Anrich Nortje, and Shimron Hetmyer.

Klusener’s vast coaching experience

Notably, Klusener has vast coaching experience. “It’s great to be back in the Abu Dhabi T10 and I am really looking forward to making a big splash this time with the Morrisville SAMP Army. I am really glad to see the players that have already been brought on board and hope we can all sync well and drive the team towards glory. The T10 is a really exciting format, and we are here to win.”

Meanwhile, Klusener also had a decorated supporting staff at his arsenal. Trevor Penney will join him as the assistant coach while they have picked James Foster as the batting and wicketkeeping coach. Penney also has IPL experience under his belt as he has been with teams including Punjab Kings, Deccan Chargers, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Rajasthan Royals.

He has also worked with Barbados Royals, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, and Saint Lucia Kings. Coming to the batting coach, his coaching career includes participating in the three major leagues, namely T20 Blast, IPL, and Pakistan Super League.
