Irrespective of wherever he plays, Virat Kohli steps up with the bat in hand, particularly when his team need him the most. However, similar to what happened at SuperSport Park, Centurion last week, the ace batsman received little support from his teammates while batting for India in the first innings of the second Test against South Africa before eventually losing his wicket.

And no other than Kagiso Rabada, South Africa’s most successful red-ball bowler in terms of strike rate, got the big fish.

India had a dramatic collapse at Newlands, Cape Town, having folded for 153 after being at the same score for four wickets. Among them, Kohli was the third-last victim, as Kagiso Rabada tempted him with a superb length delivery outside the off stump. The former India captain tried to push forward, only to see the ball going at slip cordon following a thick outside edge.

Placed at second slip, Aiden Markram took an excellent low-diving catch to end King’s stay for a gritty 59-ball 46.

Thankfully, India have a hefty lead in the second innings after bowling out South Africa for just 55 in the first innings. As of now, South Africa are 4/0 in the second innings after the conclusion of the first over.
