Experienced Indian batter KL Rahul had a forgettable outing with the bat, as he was castled by wily Sri Lankan spinner Jeffrey Vandersay in the ongoing second ODI between the two sides at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. 

The keeper-batter was dismissed for a two-ball duck in a time when India needed him to step up with the bat.

The incident occurred during the 23rd over of the Indian innings after Vandersay spun a web, reducing them to five down in no time. 

Rahul joined Axar Patel in the middle after Shreyas Iyer was outfoxed by Vandersay's deadly googly. 

However, the stylish right-hander didn't trouble the scorers, with the promising leg spinner getting his prized scalp. 

After successfully bamboozling Kohli and Iyer, Vandersay bowled another googly, that turned sharply into Rahul after pitching. As the Karnataka batter went for a half-hearted drive, the ball went through his bat and pad, shattering his stumps. 

Rahul's dismissal had a little impact on Axar, as he played his shots all around the park to compile a brilliant run-a-ball 44. 

However, Sri Lankan skipper Charith Asalanka emerged as his nemesis, dismissing him at a crucial juncture. 

As of writing, India were on the verge of a defeat, tottering at 187 for seven in 34.2 overs.
