On Sunday, September 15, Babar Azam's Stallions suffered an embarrassing 126-run defeat against Markhors in the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. 

Markhors, batting first, put 231 runs on the board while the Stallions tumbled for just 105 runs. Despite a disappointing outing with the bat, Babar Azam rose to the occasion and played a 45-run innings. Babar amassed run-a-ball 45, which featured eight fours.

It was an electrifying atmosphere at the Faisalabad Stadium as the fans turned up in huge numbers to see their idol play. Babar did not disappoint his fans as the stadium went into a frenzy after Babar scored five fours in an over. In the latest events, a video has gone viral on the internet where the fans left the stadium in huge numbers once Babar got out. 

It is not the first time that the fans have turned up to see their idol as several pics of massive traffic jam outside the Iqbal Stadium went viral on the internet before the start of the match. Even before the start of the Champions Cup, Babar waved to a huge crowd of fans from the balcony and also graced pitch invaders with selfies.

Babar Azam's Performance in Champions Cup 2024

Babar is under the scanner as he is going through a purple patch with the bat and is on course to register his worst calendar year with the bat since his international debut. However, the World No.1 ODI batter has got off to a positive note in the ongoing Champions Cup 2024 as he has amassed 121 runs in two matches.

In his opening game of the ongoing tournament, Babar scored 76 (79), which featured nine fours.
