Shaheen Afridi has had a poor Champions Cup game so far against the Stallions, but the Lions skipper roared back in style and got the prized wicket of Babar Azam to salvage some pride. Babar and Shaheen, two of the best players of Pakistan, were pipped against each other in this colossal battle, and Shaheen came out on top.

The Champions Cup tournament was a preparation for the upcoming England Test series, and Babar certainly looked confident against Shaheen and his team.

Shaheen takes his revenge against Babar

Babar looked fluent throughout the innings and smacked a couple of delightful boundaries against Shaheen as the Lions skipper looked clueless. The Pakistan batter, who has been under constant scrutiny after a poor show against Bangladesh, looked at his imperial best and was etching towards a brilliant ton when Shaheen dismissed him.

The Pakistan pacer bowled a shorter delivery and enticed Babar to go for the big shot. There was a fielder at deep square leg and Babar miscued his attempted pull shot as the ball was grabbed with ease by the fielder placed there. 

There was a smile on Shaheen Afridi's face after dismissing Babar, as he dismissed his Pakistan teammate, and one of the best batters of this generation.

The Champions ODI Cup provides Babar a great chance to find his mojo back. He scored just 64 runs in four innings and at one point slipped to 12th place in the Test rankings.

In-fact, the last time Babar scored a Test fifty was way back in December 2022 against the Kiwis. Since then, he has struggled to win matches for the Pakistan team. He'll be eager to get some runs on his back before the England Test series commences.
