The Champions One-Day Cup match between Panthers and Lions is underway at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. The Panthers, batting first, got off to the worst possible start as they lost three early wickets. 

Siraj Uddin drew the first blood for the Lions, while Shaheen Afridi too shone with the ball as he took a wicket in his second over of the match. It was a classical Shaheen Afridi delivery as he pitched the delivery on the off-stump, and it nipped away from the batter, taking an outside edge. Meanwhile, the keeper made no mistake. The incident occurred on the 2nd ball of the 3rd over. 

Shaheen Afridi Nearly Gets Said Ayub For A Duck

Shaheen has looked in great shape in the ongoing match as he also created a golden opportunity on the second ball of the match and nearly got Saim Ayub out for a duck. The southpaw failed to read the swing. He ended up getting a thick outside edge.However, the fielders standing at the slips became a laughingstock after they failed to communicate properly and none of the two fielders made an attempt to catch the ball and it raced away for a four which left Afridi frustrated. 

Shaheen Afridi's Performance in Champions One-Day Cup

Afridi has had a decent outing in his first game for Lions in the ongoing Champions Cup as he took two wickets against The Stallions, which featured the wicket of Babar Azam. However, he leaked 63 runs. 

It is worth noting that the Lions are currently placed last on the table with a defeat in their opening game. They have a net run rate of -2.660.
