Haryanvi Hunters registered their second win in succession by routing Mumbai Disruptors in the seventh match of the ECL 2024 season at the IG Indoor Stadium in Delhi. Chasing 155 for a win, Hunters’ Anujj Chaudhary and Moksh Murgai played starring roles with the bat after Keshav Chaudhary hogged the limelight with the ball.

While the match was packed to the gills with some high-octane action, one of the moments of the game occurred during the Mumbai Disruptors innings when their captain Munawar Faruqui spooned an easy catch to his Hunters’ counterpart Elvish Yadav. The moment brought the two social media giants into contention, as Faruqui made a long walk back to the dugout with a smile on his face.

Batting first, Mumbai Disruptors mounted 154-9 from 10 overs largely owing to a 12-ball 46 slapped by opening batter Aditya Singh Bhadoria. Arham Abbasi at number 11 also launched four huge sixes in his five-ball cameo of 26* in the death overs. Captain and star-attraction Munawar Faruqui, however, failed to get going as he was dismissed by Rohit Lamba for just eight.

Taking first strike in the final over of the innings, the Mumbai Disruptors skipper attempted to smack Lamba for a boundary onto his off side, only to spoon an easy catch to his Haryanvi Hunters counterpart Elvish Yadav inside the inner circle.

Yadav’s clean catch triggered widespread celebration in the Hunters camp, while Munawar Faruqui appreciated his rival’s fielding effort before making his way back to the dugout.

Keshav Chaudhary picked up four Mumbai Disruptors wickets for the Haryanvi Hunters at the expense of just 26 runs in his two overs.

Captain Elvish Yadav himself fell for a two-ball duck as he was cleaned up by Karan Khandelwal earlier in the innings.
