Travis Head registered his second failure in succession against Scotland to sign off Australia’s three-match away T20I series. The firebrand opener was dismissed for a near run-a-ball 12 by Scotland’s new-ball paceman Brad Currie in just the fourth over of the run-chase.

Earlier in the series, the cricketer started off with a whirlwind 25-ball 80 to headline Australia’s emphatic seven-wicket victory. Head was subsequently knocked over for a first-ball duck by Currie in the second T20I before a century from Josh Inglis helped the visitors seal the series with one game to spare.

Chasing 150 runs in the third T20I, Australia lost batting dynamite Travis Head for just 12 in the fourth over of the innings. In a bid to slog Scottish pacer Brad Currie down the ground for a six, Head merely ended up skying the ball towards the long-on region, where an agile George Munsey snared a clean catch.

The dismissal marked Head’s second successive batting failure against Scotland, and against Brad Currie in particular, in two days. Making his way back to the sheds after hitting two confident boundaries, Australia slipped to 18-2 in 3.2 overs in a chase of 150.

Australia thrash Scotland in 3rd T20I

Earlier in the match, Scotland batted first and charted a competitive total of 149-9 from 20 overs. Brandon McMullen top-scored with a well-compiled 56 from 39 balls, while the in-form George Munsey belted 25 swift runs at the top of the order.

For Australia, Cameron Green hogged the limelight with the ball by claiming figures of 3-35 from his four overs. Aaron Hardie and Sean Abbott also chipped in with two wickets each to prevent the Scottish line-up from flourishing at the death.

In response, Green muscled an unbeaten 62* from 39 balls with two boundaries and five maximums to blaze Australia to a six-wicket victory with 23 balls to spare. The outcome also helped Australia seal the three-match series by a 3-0.
