[Watch] Travis Head Records A Golden Duck As Scotland's Shaheen Afridi Gets Him With A Ripper

Australia's swashbuckling opener Travis Head had a forgettable outing in the second T20I against Scotland, as Brad Currie dismissed him for a golden duck. Head was in sublime form following his sensational 25-ball 80, which helped Australia thrash the Scottish side in the series opener.

However, he failed to extend his purple patch, with Currie's vicious nip-backer getting the better of him in this all-important clash. The incident occurred during the second over of Australia's innings after Scotland captain Richie Berrington opted to bowl first under cloudy skies. After Brandon McMullen had an ordinary start with the ball, Brad Currie channelised his inner Shaheen Afridi to leave Head shell-shocked.

After conceding six runs, including a boundary, off his first three deliveries, Currie bowled a good-length delivery around the fourth stump. Travis Head, who loves capitalising on the field restrictions, didn't have room to free his arms.

He was cramped for room as the ball sneaked through the gap between his bat and pad, shattering the stumps. Despite grabbing the eyeballs through his fearless batting approach, Head has some evident technical flaws, which the left-arm pacers have exploited time and again. His today's dismissal took fans back to the IPL 2024, where Arshdeep Singh castled him in a similar manner.

Australia in a spot of bother in 2nd T20I vs Scotland

Meanwhile, after losing his opening partner, Jake Fraser-McGurk also threw his wicket away, registering another poor score in the series. For the unversed, the young opener was dismissed for a duck in the last match.

After Fraser-McGurk's departure, Cameron Green joined Josh Inglis in the middle. As of writing, Australia were 36 for two, with Inglis and Green batting on 9* and 7*, respectively.
