Australia have suffered a massive setback, with an unfortunate hamstring injury ruling out ace speedster Nathan Ellis from their ongoing UK tour. Led by Mitchell Marsh, Australia are slated to face Scotland in three T20Is before taking on England in eight white-ball matches.

However, the visitors have lost Nathan Ellis to a hamstring tendon injury amid the ongoing series against Scotland in Edinburgh. Renowned for his death-bowling skills, Ellis sustained the injury while playing for London Spirit in The Hundred 2024. Despite being included in Australia's T20I squad for the Scotland series, Ellis missed the first game before Cricket Australia withdrew him from the entire tour.

The hamstring injury adversely affected Ellis' international career, preventing him from leading the Aussie pace attack in the absence of their first-choice seamers- Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. In his absence, Riley Meredith will stay with the Australian team throughout their UK tour.

Josh Hazlewood arrives in England for T20I series

As reported by ESPN Cricinfo, Hazlewood has recovered from the calf injury, which ruled him out of the Scotland T20Is. The seamer has even landed in England for the upcoming white-ball leg against the home team. After playing three T20Is against Scotland, Australia will travel to England for three T20Is and five ODIs.

Australia in a commanding position in 2nd T20I vs Scotland

Meanwhile, a blistering knock from Josh Inglis ensured Australia's incredible fightback in the second T20I against Scotland. The hosts had a dream start to the match, with Brad Currie getting the prized scalps of Travis Head and Jake Fraser-McGurk. However, Inglis' tremendous fifty and a calculated inning from Cameron Green helped Australia breach the 150-run mark in 16 overs.
