Sunrisers Hyderabad had a fabulous start to their IPL 2025 campaign, as they defeated Rajasthan Royals in their inaugural game at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Batting first, SRH posted a massive total of 286 runs, which RR failed to chase despite blistering knocks from Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel. 

Kavya Maran Approves SRH's Effort With Thumbs Up

After SRH handed a 44-run defeat to RR, their owner Kavya Maran was ecstatic in the stands. Kavya is a staunch supporter of her team, and she regularly attends SRH's matches to cheer her troops from the stands. 

As the Orange Army recorded a clinical victory over the Royals, Maran was in all smiles as she applauded their performance with a gentle thumbs up from the stands. 

What Happened In SRH vs RR Match Today?

The second IPL 2025 encounter between SRH and RR was a high-scoring affair, which the hosts won by a convincing margin of 44 runs. Riding on a blistering century by Ishan Kishan and flamboyant half-century from Travis Head, the Sunrisers powered themselves to 286, the highest team total in IPL 2025 so far. 

In response, Rajasthan Royals had a terrible start to their innings, losing crucial wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana and stand-in captain Riyan Parag in quick succession. However, Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel put up a fight for the visitors, slamming belligerent fifties. 

Shimron Hetmyer struck 42 unbeaten runs, but eventually, RR fell short of the target by 44 runs.
