In a massive setback for Sunrisers Hyderabad, their premier fast bowler Mohammed Shami sustained an injury and walked off the field during the ongoing IPL 2025 match against Rajasthan Royals. The incident occurred during RR's run-chase after SRH posted a mammoth total of 286 runs on the board.
Mohammed Shami Gets Hit On Finger, Goes Out Of The Field
It happened during the twelfth over of RR's innings when SRH was searching for a wicket. Captain Pat Cummins brought himself into the attack and kept RR's in-form batters under the pump with his accuracy.
When Cummins created a chance, Shami put the catch down and sustained a finger injury. He eventually walked off the field, leaving SRH short of a potent bowling option.
Earlier, Shami conceded 33 runs off his three overs, having a rare off day on the field. However, he managed to bag the prized scalp of Nitish Rana, courtesy of Pat Cummins's sharp catch.
RR Lose Their Fourth Wicket At Crucial Stage
Although chasing 287 was a daunting task, Rajasthan Royals put up a fight in the second half, thanks to blistering knocks from Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel. However, it was a matter of time before SRH made a comeback with a few quick wickets. As of writing, the Royals were 162 for five, with Shimran Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey batting on 0* and 1*, respectively.
