India's newly recruited head coach, Gautam Gambhir, was all smiles after the Men in Blue pipped Sri Lanka in the super over to clinch a thrilling victory in the final T20I at Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy. 

Batting first, India posted 137 runs on the board before Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh helped the visitors tie the game through clinical bowling spells.

Washington Sundar emerged as India's hero in the super over, restricting the Lankans to two runs before skipper Surya hit the winning boundary on the very first delivery. 

After India's convincing win, Gambhir expressed his happiness by smiling and hugging the coaching staff and players. 

He also hugged Sanju Samson, who registered a four-ball duck earlier in the game. This was Samson's second consecutive duck after he failed to open his account in the penultimate fixture. 

Generally known for his bold and aggressive nature, Gambhir's gesture showcased his lovely bond with this bunch of Indian players. 

With the nail-biting win in the 3rd T20I, India clinched the series by an emphatic three-nil margin, clean-sweeping the hosts. Up next, the Men in Blue will take on the Lankans in a three-match ODI series starting on August 2.
