The Northern Superchargers took on the Southern Braves in the 8th match of The Hundred 2024. This match was being played at the Headingley in Leeds. 

The Southern Brave won the toss in the game and batted first. They put in a team effort while batting and posted a total of 146/8 in their allotted 100 balls. 


Nicholas Pooran destroys the Southern Brave bowling

In the chase it was a Nicholas Pooran show for the Norther Superchargers. Coming to bat in at number three, the West Indian keeper batter scored 62 runs off 34 balls at a strike rate of 182.35 and fuelled the win for his team. He was ably accompanied by the skipper, Harry Brook as the Superchargers won the game by seven wickets with 15 balls remaining in the game. 

Nicholas Pooran is known for his power game and the big hits. One highlight of his effort against the Southern Brave was the way he brought up his half-century. Rehan Ahmed was bowling the 12th set for the Brave. Pooran smashed the young English spinner for two massive hits of the second and third deliveries of the set. The second six took him past the land mark from just 26 deliveries. 

With this win the Superchargers have got off the mark in the points tally. They are currently placed at the fifth spot in the points table with one win from two matches and a net run rate of -0.163.
