India is playing Sri Lanka in the third and final match of the three-match T20I series. This match is being played at the Pallkele International Stadium in Kandy.

The Sri Lankan skipper, Charith Asalanka won the toss and opted to field first. This match does not have much consequence to the result of the series as India have already sealed the deal by winning the first two games.

However, Sri Lanka are out their playing for their prestidge and preventing a white wash on their home turf. The home team have started off the game on a great note and have put India on the back foot.

Sanju Samson fails to score a run in the T20I series

In the fourth ball of his innings, Sanju Samson fell trying to play a big shot. The debutant Wickramasinghe bowled a fuller delivery outside the off stump that swang a bit at the last moment. Samson was trying to go inside out over covers but got a leading edge that was taken in the deep behind square on the off side.

Notably, Sanju Samson scored a golden duck in the second T20I when he was sent to open the innings for India. So, he finishes this T20I series without scoring a single run having played just four balls.

India have lost two more wickets after that and are struggling on a two-paced wicket. It is upto the middle order of the Indian batting line-up to get them to a respectable total and put up a fight.

India lose Jaiswal early

India made quite a few changes coming into this game. It was Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who opened the innings for India. Maheesh Theekshana dealt the first blow to the Indian team by picking up the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal on the last ball of the second over

At the time of writing, India have lost four of their men - with Samson, Jaiswal, Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav back in the hut. Shubman Gill and Shivam Dube are batting it out for the T20 World Champs, with the scoreboard reading 46/4 after 8 overs.
