The Northern Superchargers took on the Southern Brave in the 8th match of The Hundred 2024. The Superchargers managed to win the game convincingly by seven wickets with 15 balls remaining in the match.

The Souther Brave won the toss and batted first in the match. It was a moderate effort by the Brave during their batting, where they posted 146/8 in their quota of 100 balls. Kieron Pollard top scored for the Brave with a 22 ball 37. Callum Parkinson was the pick of the bowlers for the Superchargers as he finished his quota of 20 balls with 2 wickets while conceding 28 runs.

In the chase, the Superchargers got off to a steady start as their openers Graham Clark and Matthew Short stitched 26 runs for the first wicket. After this, Nicholas Pooran joined Clark in the middle and duo scored 49 runs off 32 deliveries setting a perfect foundation for the successful chase.

Chris Jordan sends Clark's bails flying

On the first delivery of the 10th set, Chris Jordan picked up the wicket of Graham Clark. It was a fullish delivery by Jordan with a hint of reverse swing. Clark was looking to be aggressive but played down the wrong line and completely missed the cherry. The ball snuck through the gap between the bat and pad of Clark and disturbed the furniture behind the batter, ending his stay in the middle (27 off 20).

This wicket gave a glimmer of hope to the Brave to make a comeback in the match. However, skipper Harry Brook came in next and along with Nicholas Pooran ensured that the team suffered no major setback. Although, Pooran was dismissed in the 15th set, the match was well in the grasp of the Superchargers by then.
