On Friday, Northamptonshire faced Durham in their fourth group-stage match of the ongoing One-Day tournament.

After winning the toss, Northamptonshire's captain, Lewis McManus, opted to bat first. His decision proved a masterstroke, as Prithvi Shaw came out with all guns blazing to give his side a brisk start.

Despite losing his opening partner cheaply, the Indian youngster continued his onslaught on the Durham bowling attack, amassing 97 runs off just 71 deliveries.

He struck sixteen fours and a six for his gorgeous know, establishing a solid foundation for a mammoth score.

This was Shaw's second consecutive half-century in the tournament. Earlier, he compiled a thunderous 58-ball 76 against Middlesex

However, barring the India cricketer, none of the Northamptonshire players stepped up with the bat. As a result, they were bowled out for an underwhelming 260-run total in 49.2 overs.

In response, Durham chased the target comfortably, riding on Colin Ackermann's scintillating hundred.

This was Northamptonshire's fourth successive defeat in the tournament. They will face Worcestershire in their next fixture tomorrow at 3.30 PM IST.
