In what comes as a massive relief for Delhi Capitals fans, the franchise will likely retain swashbuckling batter Rishabh Pant for the IPL 2025 season. Some reports claimed that the explosive keeper-batter might leave DC and join Chennai Super Kings.

Some media agencies even claimed that Pant's CSK stint might draw curtains on MS Dhoni's illustrious IPL career in the yellow jersey.

Delhi Capitals to retain Rishabh Pant: reports

Meanwhile, in a fresh development, a renowned journalist from the Press Trust of India has claimed that Pant won't be released by the Capitals ahead of the mega auction next year.

In a Twitter post, the journalist revealed that the Delhi-based franchise is all set to retain Pant alongside India's T20 World Cup heroes Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.

On the other hand, either of Tristan Stubbs and Jake Fraser-McGurk could be the Capitals' overseas retention.

Thus, it's inferred that the Capitals might part ways with Indian batter Prithvi Shaw and veteran Australian opener David Warner. Both Shaw and Warner were underwhelming with the bat last season, letting the team down on multiple occasions.

On the contrary, Pant, Stubbs and Fraser-McGurk were exceptional with the bat, while Kuldeep and Axar led the bowlers' chart for DC in IPL 2024. Therefore, they will likely be rewarded with retentions before the mega auction.
