Shreyas Iyer, the star Indian batter has failed in Mumbai's Ranji game against Jammu and Kashmir, leaving his team reeling at 47-7. He scored 11 off seven balls which included one four and one six, but a careless shot from the right-handed batter when his team was already six down would not go well with his team and fans.
The right-handed batter walked to bat at number 5 with the team losing three wickets at the score of 30. He hit the first ball for a six and then hit a boundary as well, but just could not kept his patience when his team needed him the most, and ended up losing his wicket.
Big International Players Fail On Ranji Return
Earlier, star batters like Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal too fell without making much of an impact after Rahane won the toss and decided to bat first. The left-handed opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal who was brilliant on Australian tour was the first one to go while out-of-form Rohit Sharma departed on three off just 19 balls.
Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube too could not bail their team out of trouble and the later fell for a three-ball duck. It was upto Shreyas Iyer then to carry his team with the lower order, but he played a laxy flick shot that went straight into the hands of mid on off the bowling of Yudhvir Singh who has played for LSG in IPL.
