Rohit Sharma's much-awaited Ranji comeback is here, but the story has not started on a bright note for the current Indian Test captain as he departed for three off just 19 balls. He walked out to open the innings after Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first. The opener though could not last long and lost his wicket to Auqib Nabi on a shortish delivery.
The first one to go was Yashasvi Jaiswal, another star Indian opener. He departed for 4 off eight balls and while Rohit battled till the sixth over, he never looked comfortable. The veteran is known to be pretty good on short deliveries, but he looked in his shell and finally on the fifth ball of the 6th over, the batter ended up getting a leading edge to the delivery angled into him and Jammu and Kashmir got their second wicket.

The right-arm pacer bowled a short delivery, angling into the body of Rohit Sharma. The star batter tried to work it towards the leg side, but he only managed to hand an easy catch to Paras Dogra at covers and Rohit's terrible form in red-ball cricket continues.
After the wicket of Rohit Sharma, Mumbai, kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 47-7 in no time. The likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube all failed and Umar Nazir Mir has been the pick of the bowlers with four wickets.
